Christmas 2015

Christmas this year was really nice Christmas Eve we had dinner at my mom’s house. My dad and my grandparents were even there.

On Christmas Day we went over to my brother’s in the morning to watch my 2 12 year old nephew open his presents. We then opened presents from each other. I mostly got books that I wanted. My mom let me set up an Amazon wishlist and then she just ordered from there. That way I got exactly what I wanted. After presents we left my brother’s house and just chilled at my mom’s mostly just getting to know our presents. It was a pretty chill day.

Some CDs from my mom and sister:

An Oracle set from my mom:

Books from my mom

Presents from my dad:

R.I.P Alan Rickman

When I first heard the news this morning, I didn’t believe my mother when she told me.

It couldn’t be true. I Googled it and some sources were saying it was a hoax, but then I found it on BBC News and it finally sunk in.

Alan Rickman had passed away this morning from cancer at the age of 69.

I didn’t even know he was sick.

Though I wasn’t a fan of Severus Snape, the role he is most famous for, Alan did an amazing job portraying him.

Alan was an amazing actor altogether and he will be missed.

Yule 2015

This year was my second Yule. Last year Yule was the first Sabbat I ever celebrated. I was also sick for my first Yule Guess what? I was sick for this one too, which I’m okay with because it isn’t one of my favorite Sabbats.

The Friday before was nice though. I was in my first ritual! I’ve attended a few public rituals before now, but I’ve never actually been in one. There is a Druid Grove in close to me (like two minutes away). I’ve met most of the members during the other public rituals. The leader (not sure what they are called in a Druid Grove) invited me to join their  meetup.com group. I did. They then added me to their FB group and then asked if I wanted to be written into their Yule ritual. I kind of felt obligated (for some reason), but also because I wanted to do it. It felt nice to be included.

My part was calling to the West corner and dealing the element Water. Of course the first time I was supposed to call I was facing East. I had gotten my directions mixed up because I had only attended one other ritual at this place and wasn’t sure which way was West from there. I was slightly embarrassed but I caught on quickly after that.

The ritual was really nice. We honored the Celtic Crone goddess Cailleach. This was the first time I had ever heard of her. I believe in other gods and goddesses, but I  don’t worship them. It’s always interesting to learn about them too.

On Sunday the 20th, my sister and I went to Ocala with my dad to a Christmas party with his side of the family. We had a white elephant gift exchange. I managed to get a cute candle that had chalk blackboard  painted on the outside and a piece of chalk (pictured below). I thought it’d be perfect to use during spells to write intentions, sigils, or runes with.

For actual Yule, I was feeling sick again so I didn’t do much. Plus I worked during the day and was too tired to do any kind of ritual. I did end up watching Home Alone 2 with my mom and sister while I wrote my pen pals letters.

I also burned my new oil lamp (pictured at the top) That was the only festive thing I could manage.

This is my Yule altar (I don’t usually go all out for Sabbat decorations. I like to keep it simple)

Even though I didn’t, do much I still had a nice Yule. I’ll also be posting about my Christmas.

Day of Birth

On December 2nd 1987 at 8:04 in the morning I came into this world.

This past December 2nd I celebrated y 28th birthday.

Since I have been having a lot of flare ups, I didn’t really feel like doing much I ended up just having lunch with my dad and sister. We then went to a couple of thrift stores to look for books I found quite a bit. I kind of have a bit of a book buying addiction (that I don’t intend curing any time soon). Plus I bought most of the books at Goodwill which were $1-$2 each so it was hard not to buy a lot. I found some really good ones .Here is a picture:

After thrifting we went to my brother’s house and made breakfast for dinner. My sister had also made me dirt cake. It was delicious! Overall it was a good birthday.

Another Thyroid Update

I got some good news at my Endo appointment on Wednesday!

The Endo said that I was negative for Graves’ Disease! I don’t have it anymore. I do, however, have Hashimoto’s which I am totally okay with. I  would rather have Hashimoto’s than Graves’. It’ll be easier to manage with a diet and exercise. Plus I won’t have to have surgery! She also said that she is unsure if I ever had Graves’. Which is confusing. She said she doesn’t know for sure because she doesn’t have the initial diagnosis paper from my last Endo. I  had called them before my first appointment with my new Endo so she should have it. I guess I’m going to have to give them a call again on Monday and tell them to send it. I’m going to be pissed if my last Endo had been treating me for Graves’s and I never had it. Though my new Endo said I definitely had the Hyperthyroid, but still.

I still haven’t heard back from my Rheumatologist about my Fibro test. I’ll be giving them a call on Monday as well.

I’m still playing catch up with my posts so these are some of the posts you will be seeing this week:
