Thyroid Thursday [10/8/25]

I don’t have any thyroid updates yet. I had my chest x-ray on Monday so I’m just waiting for my doctor appointment next Monday to hear the results. I’ll also have the results of all my blood tests then too.

Are you following iodine -restrictive diet? Have you developed nodules in the thyroid?

I just saw my Endo two weeks ago and said I don’t have nodules. I’m following a low iodine diet (or trying to at least). I’ve also cut gluten (mostly because I break out in hives when I eat it).

Thank you so much! I will be following your journey.
Most modern treatments for GD are focusing on removing or destroying thyroid tissue. The target area should be not the thyroid gland itself, but the antibodies that cause GD and Hashimoto’s.
Most symptoms including chest pain can be caused by high blood flow in the thyroid and could be brought under control by lowering blood flow rate through the thyroid tissue!

Thank you! Hmm, that’s interesting. Yeah I asked my Endo about removing mine but he said said since I don’t have nodules I don’t have to worry about that right now. I’m also trying to feet in with a different Endo for a second opinion.

finally, FIY, the average thyroid volume for adult female in the US is 7.5 ml with maximum upper limit of 18 ml, If thyroid volume is less than 25 ml during the full blown disease the remission is possible; in all other cases a goiter will remain.
